Starting a yet-to-be-named Writing Group

So I started a writing group. I would love to say it was an accident.

Unfortunately, it was all planned.

I planned to the minimum. So you know it was good.

Why did I start a writing group?

It’s a story as old as time; I developed anxiety, caffeine-induced, and decided I needed more friends that are not cans of energy drinks. A bar so low even I could not trip over it.

So now that the first meeting is over, only water bottles and a couple of donuts are left over. How did it go?

Oddly well, listen, we are all young writers. We make basic and dumb mistakes at all times. Sometimes, you just need people to understand your vision, regardless of the reality.

A place where you can say this writing sucks, yet you can and will do better. Also, we loved where you are going—a combination of words and sentiments that makes my eyes tear up excitedly.

Next week we plan to write a paragraph of a story and pass it along until we hit its end.

I won’t write about the other member’s writings, except that one of them may have enjoyed ‘Spirited Away’ so much that it has seeped into her soul.

For my writing, though, my first comment was that my commas are terrible. They commented more on what it made them feel, which was heartwarming.

I make very silly stories.

The one I showed was about a Duck who believed he summoned a loaf of bread with his mind and showing his Wizard friend, that wizard friend got jealous and decided to solve the mystery of where the bread came from because there was no way the Duck is a better wizard than him.

A silly plot if you’ve ever heard it.

Despite the faulty parts, they said reading it was joyful and light. I am honored that I could make them feel that way even slightly.

Even if my commas need life support.

I was also enthusiastic about reading and talking to them about their work. I was even accused of becoming giddy in my reading and review.

What is the meaning of this Blog post?

You should write with friends. Try to be actively engaged in someone else’s creative endeavor. Look at the greatness hidden beneath inexperience and smile.

They won’t become great in the future; after all, they are great now, and everything that will be comes from what they already are now. They will simply become greater.

I hope they learn that; I wish I knew it myself.

Hope you all have a good day!
