I am bragging about my almost good cable management. As well as being sad about wall outlets.

I have returned to my college and have become enamored with making my terrible little desk clean and nice if possible.
Emphasis on “if possible”. As I type currently my laptop is wobbling and its not my laptop that is uneven.
In summary this is and example of the power of velcro straps and a bit of insanity.

Wow what an almost decent set up. It gets even better. The two power bars have shown my something interesting about this building.
The power outlets and systems might need a bit of a fixing…
I have been struggling to keep my monitor powered on and keeping plugs in the outlets.
The power-bars are in use simply because anything with two pronged power cables fall out, or worse barely stay in.
Depending on how the /images show up on my blog you might notice the Lenovo m93 think center double sided taped to the bottom of my desk.
It was a stroke of pure genius if you ask me.
That computer runs Ubuntu, and is mostly my “try out things and see if it works box” as well as my personal cloud storage for my time at school.
A good place to store a second copy of important documents that I can access anywhere. Also I can use my phone to scan important documents and put them right on my computer for future reference.
I have set up remote management and other fun features now so technically I don’t need the Keyboard, monitor and mouse on my desk. They were nine dollars at a local thrift though. Also the wifi could just go down and I would still need them to operate the computer if that happened.
The worst part about this setup is that the $5 monitor is so much better than a $100 dollar AOC Monitor I bought a couple years ago. This one doesn’t blur red when I move things on screen, or have pixel response time artifacts. It’s adjustable and even has a built in USB hub in it.
What does the $100 one I bought have?
HDMI, and a very, very, VERY BAD VA panel.
Enough ranting about monitors, and power outlets, and mentioning that my light switch is broken.

My light-switch is a very sad light switch.
In summary, wow I wish that they would fix some of the basics, and replace all those incandescent bulbs with LEDS.
It would save them money and truly is that not in the spirit of the rest of the apartments electrical work?
Also velcro ties are now an essential part of my everyday carry.
Hope for more updates in the future. I have gone off the deep-end and I have been doing a lot of computer information technology stuff so I spend more time sitting on this side of the screen thinking.
“hmmm how can I show how cool the things I am doing on the computer is without being incredibly boring, and have people understand what I am doing?”
It is truly a question for all time. Best of luck to future me.
Also to anyone reading this have a good period of time you are in.
